HONOR ROLL #16, JULY 11

None of the SUPERMAN TV cartoons can even touch the classic Fleischer theatrical shorts in terms of capturing the appeal of the Man of Steel. But since I already reviewed the nineties version, here it is.

WILL SMITH wears a costume for something like two minutes in this film, and the rest of the time he's "non-costumed," despite having Superman-like powers. Possibly his best acting, too.

I'm nowhere close to reviewing even one season of KEVIN SORBO's "Hercules," so here's his take on Howard's crusty King Kull.

MICHAEL SOPKIW appeared in one of the better imitations of "Escape from New York."

LINDA STIRLING had two combative roles, one of which showed her covered from head to toe and masked, one which did not. Guess which one I chose?

I meditated long and hard over whether ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER should be represented by Conan and the Terminator. I think the first film is the only one where Arnie plays a "bad monster," and in all the others, he's a "good," tamed force of destruction.
