HONOR ROLL #1: JUNE 1

Perhaps fittingly, the first entry for "Costumed Crusaders" is the first player to depict Superman on screen, KIRK ALYN. He made a likable, if not very bright-looking, Man of Steel.

For the category of "Non-Costumed Knights," I decided to go in a more comic direction with DON ADAMS. His big-screen adaptation of his teleseries "Get Smart" was not very good, but still better than the obscenity with Sreve Carell.

For "Archaic Adventurers," TOD ARMSTRONG as a memorable Jason, as in "of the Argonauts."

For "Space: the Fighting Frontier" I'll go with IAN ABERCROMBIE, the dignified old man who has to put up with Bruce Campbell in "Army of Darkness."

One of the great female stars of sound serials was of course KAY ALDRIDGE, though she never got starring action-girl status again after "Perils of Nyoka."

And my monster (or villain) of the week is ANGILAS, Godzilla's first king-sized opponent from the second Big G movie, "Godzilla Raids Again."
